Lead the Voice of Business in New Hampshire’s Capital Region

The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce—the largest Chamber in New Hampshire—seeks a visionary, strategic, and community-minded leader to serve as its next President and CEO. With a dynamic membership of approximately 850 businesses and organizations, an engaged 33-member Board of Directors, a $777,000 annual budget, and a dedicated full-time staff of six, the Chamber is a trusted catalyst for business growth, community development, and regional prosperity.

About Us

As the State Capital Chamber, GCCOC serves Concord and 14 surrounding communities with a clear mission: to support the economic vitality and quality of life in New Hampshire’s Capital Region. Our programs and initiatives span business advocacy, community leadership development, tourism and workforce promotion, and member networking opportunities.

From influencing local and state policy to empowering the next generation of leaders through the Concord Young Professionals Network, the Chamber is a cornerstone of progress and connection in the region.

The Role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President and CEO is the public face and chief strategist of the organization. This leader will:

  • Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement strategic goals and annual action plans.
  • Represent and advocate for Chamber members at the local and state levels.
  • Oversee all operations, budgeting, financial management, staffing, and organizational development.
  • Drive member engagement, recruitment, retention, and the growth of non-dues revenue.
  • Foster key relationships with businesses, civic leaders, and government officials.
  • Serve as spokesperson for the Chamber across all media and public engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning and execution in collaboration with the Board.
  • Financial oversight, including budget preparation and monthly reporting.
  • Staff management, development, and leadership in a collaborative team environment.
  • Government affairs liaison, working closely with local and state policymakers.
  • Volunteer motivation and support for Chamber initiatives.
  • Member engagement and communications across traditional and digital platforms.

We’re looking for a dynamic leader who brings:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, communications, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership, ideally in a Chamber, nonprofit, or business association.
  • Proven fiscal responsibility and budget management experience.

Leadership & Skills

  • Demonstrated success in setting vision, leading teams, and achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking capabilities.
  • Ability to think strategically and act decisively with a big-picture mindset.
  • Skilled at building partnerships, embracing diversity, and fostering community engagement.

Communications & Advocacy

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Comfort serving as a public spokesperson and working with the media.
  • Deep understanding of public policy, government relations, and advocacy strategy.
